SCIENCE CONGRESS
Sometimes, a spark that arise in your mind can easily be developed into a great idea and it will become a hypothesis for a project. If you have such a project, we provide a platform for you to exhibit it.
What is S2C?
· A project that you can do alone or in a team of two
· A one-of-a-kind way for you to learn more about
science outside the classroom, choosing your own subject to explore
· Experimentation, Design or Study projects in three
specific scientific fields
· More than just a science competition: it’s also a
way to forge links with experienced professional scientists and researchers
· But above all, a unique life experience like
nothing you’ve ever seen in science!
Registration:
Your project is coming along well? It’s now time to
register, and embark on your S2C adventure!
A team can consist of maximum 3 members.
Registration fee would be 100 rupees for each

Types of project
The type of Science Fair project refers to how you
will deal with your subject. There are three approaches:
Experimentation
To experiment means to discover new ways of doing
things and improve existing approaches. Experiments are conducted to prove
ideas or to help better understand the workings of the physical world.
Experimentation allows one to deepen one’s knowledge of a subject using a
precise and thorough scientific method.
Design
Designing is “creating through imagination.” It
means creating or improving upon inventions to meet specific needs and to serve
fields such as biotechnology, genetic engineering, bioinformation systems or
health care.
Study
In this category, exhibitors will study a subject
in depth, relying on many different sources of information, and then present
the technical and scientific concepts in a language that the general public can
understand
Categories
Environmental
Sciences
Sciences that study, the Earth and its spatial
environment, all living and non-living factors likely to impact organisms and
their environments. Example, include pollution by blue-green algae, bio
remediation, etc.
Health sciences
Sciences that examine a biomedical or clinical
aspect or health services and products destined for living beings
Lifesciences
Sciences that study the nature or functions of
living beings (Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Molecular biology,
physiology, etc...
How to exhibit your project
Working and Non working models:
If you have a working model of your project you are
welcome to exhibit it for the audience. You will be provided with 4’ X 2’ table
and 240 V electrical power if necessary. Please mention the requirements in the
registration form.
The visual
presentation of the project:
The visual presentation of your booth will be appraised by the judges,
and it must be in compliance with the Rules. A picture is worth a thousand
words. The visual presentation of your booth plays an important part in
attracting people’s attention to your project. Not only does your booth have to
be appealing, but the information you present must also be useful. The
information must be displayed in such a way that the visitor and the judges are
able to follow the exhibitor’s presentation easily and even understand the
topic simply by looking at the pictures and reading the documentation.
Visual presentation
will be in the form of posters measuring 3’ X 2’ Portrait layout.
Oral presentation of
the project:
Participating in a
Science Fair is not only conducting an experiment or research—it is also
sharing information and discoveries with the audience and the judges. The
public presentation of the project is an important step, because it is the
moment when the exhibitors present their knowledge in a language that the
general public will understand. Exhibitors must therefore present their work in
a dynamic way. Authors of selected projects will be asked to make a 10 minutes
oral presentation. All the participants are requested to come prepared for this
event.
